As preparation for the individual course it is an advantage to let the dismissed employees take part in an orientation meeting relatively soon after the round of dismissals. The aim with the orientation meetings is partly to give the dismissed employees the chance to put into words how they feel as well as their reactions. Secondly, the meetings are the chance to present them with the support offered from their employer and AS3.


As an alternative to individual outplacement – or job advisement courses the company can offer the dismissed employees participation in a one or two day job hunting course. These should always be supplemented with individual meetings to follow up.
